Just us girls!

Here is a picture Jamie took of the 3 of us today. Rachel is such a sweet big sister and loves on Abigail all of the time. I love when Rachel says to me as I hold Abigail "Mommy, you want 2 girls?" This means, do you want to have me on your lap too?

And here is one of Abigail on Friday. She is having a rough time with baby acne and it seems to still be getting worse. Oh well, we think that she is still very cute!

My Two Girls!

- These are shirts that Rachel made for the two of them before Abigail was born. The green and pink blanket Abigail is on is the one that I made for her. I love how it turned out!

- I can't believe that Abigail is now 3 weeks old! Time is already going by fast!

Abigail has Arrived!

Ok, so 2 weeks later I am getting around to posting.

8lbs 5oz
19 inches
Born April 14th

Things are going great. We had a rough start with Abigail having respiratory distress and being in special care of pretty much the duration of our stay at the hospital. She then got jaundice, but we were released on the 17th after 18 hours of phototherapy. Well, a few days had passed and she was hospitalized for jaundice again, so she and I spent the night in the hospital.

I'll tell you, I just can't seem to have a normal delivery! Both Rachel and Abigail were only with us for a short time after birth and then were in special care. The good thing is that now both girls are healthy! Well, they are still watching Abigail for her jaundice, but hope that over the course of the next 2 weeks it should go away.

Rachel is loving being a big sister and has been doing great!!!
I am recovering from my c-section really well...better than the first one! I am now past the pain part of the recovery, so that is good! I actually go tomorrow for a follow-up with my OB and I anticipate that will go good!

A Week Has Gone By...

And just last night was the first time that I sat down to work on combining the squares for Abigail's blanket. Wow is my motivation running thin these days!

We have been loving the nicer weather! Rachel loves being outside and insists that when on a walk, we have to go to the park in our neighborhood! I know that our days as just the two of us are limited, but I am sure enjoying each and every one of them!

Abigail is no longer breech. Not that it makes a difference given that I will have a c-section. Less than 4 weeks to go!

Need to Crochet!

I am so close to completing Abigail's baby blanket. I made 42 squares and now I need to combine them. Then it will be done. Maybe this weekend I will buckle down and get it finished!

Thanks Alison!

So I have been tagged. Lisa, Stephanie, Amanda and Nicole...You have been tagged! Michele and Shelley...you have been tagged again! (Once from Alison and now from me!)

The rules: Go to your photo storage area and select the 6th folder and then select the 6th photo. Post it!

So, the 6th folder only had 2 photos so here is the 2nd one. It is of Rachel helping Jamie in the basement sort through cords he had in a box. I can't remember exactly what they were looking for, but when I looked in from upstairs I thought that it was cute how involved she wanted to be! I love the mini-pigtails in this one. And I miss those cute little jeans on her! Date: 1/17/08

Now to be fair to the 6th photo I had to go 2 more folders down. Date: 1/27/08 Here is Rachel wrestling with her Build-A-Bear before bed. Look at her teeth! Now she has a mouth full! (Well, but still not all of them! She does not have her last 4 molars!)

Updates!

Nothing too new has been going on.

Jamie is super busy with work and even though he is done with his MBA, his evenings have been busy with him doing work-work.

Rachel is as sweet as ever! We have had some problems with her being a typical girl (Lord, please help us when she is a teen!!!), but she is so funny, happy and cute. I just can't help but to love her so much! I love that right now when you want her to do something, she says "Not ett" for not yet...it sounds so cute! She has also become very independant! She can put on her own shoes, coat, hat and mittens. She gives herself her antibiotics every morning (once I put the liquid in the spoon). She puts the toothpaste on her toothbrush.

Abigail is growing and moving! We had to get an ultrasound today (long story), but she is weighing about 2lbs15oz, which puts her right on track. For those of you that know the story, she is actually at the 47%ile for weight right now, so perfect! All is good! I am sure that she will be just as sweet as her big sis and we are looking forward to meeting her...but not before she is due to come in April!

Nothing new on my front. Just been tired and pretty unmotivated when it comes to doing much. I need to get Rachel's scrapbook up to date and get Abigail's crocheted blanket finished.

Holiday Pictures

Our family room decorated. The tree is real and according to Rachel, "Daddy make this," which means he cut it down! I think that this is our best tree yet and it was the first one we saw!

A family picture including what you can see of Abigail!

Cast your votes now...Do you think that Rachel likes Santa??? This was taken on my families Christmas Eve party.

Christmas morning...Rachel and all of her toys... I would say that her favorites have been the doctors kit, the tool kit and the make-up/hair kit.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all!

When I get this dumb computer figured out (so I can see our photos downloaded downstairs from the upstairs laptop - trying to get it linked is always hit or miss) I will post some Christmas pictures.

Our plans for the New Year:
- Spend time as just the three of us!
- Paint the girls room and get it ready for April!!! (pink & green)
- Paint the kitchen (green)
- Totally organize the basement storage room
- Save money...save save save save!
- Scrapbook...
- Scrapbook...
- Scrapbook...I need to get Rachel caught up before Abigail arrives!

This week will be an exciting one for us. I have signed Rachel up for a new swim class for Wednesdays and I think that it will be good for her! We also start gymnastics again on Saturday. I know that Rachel will love doing both!

Abigail has started to move more and I am feeling her a lot. Rachel is starting to refer to her has her sister and talks about her. I think that she may finally be understanding what it means to be having a baby!
